*Happy happy happy...*

Yesterday was S's birthday but much more importantly it was also the day that we shopped for an engagement ring! Yes, that's right - S and I are going to get married and now that we've bought the ring we want the world to know! We both had a great deal of fun looking around the jewlery quarter in Birmingham and by the end of the morning we had decided what we wanted and it had been bought. Half an hour later, after the ring size had been adjusted to perfection, and there it was on S's finger looking like it belonged there.

Don't ask us about wedding dates yet because we don't know; rest assured though that those that need to know will be told well before the big event!

Work relate gripe of the day: Whilst out at lunch I received an e-mail implying that I hadn't been developing my work in accordance with the latest relevant specification. Normally this would be fair criticism, but in this particular case the specification in question was only officially released today (or more accurately over the weekend, but strangely enough I don't usually come into the office at weekends). During the morning, before this acusatory e-mail was written, I had acquired a copy of the new specification and this afternoon was intending to check how it affected my work. What more am I expected to do, especially since any work I do put in on this has not been officially scheduled as I am now working on something entirely different.
